Tune in, readers: Don’t forget our songwriting contest! We want you to send us your best song lyrics. We’ll put the top three songs to music, post them on the Web and send those kids tapes of their songs. The writer of the No. 1 song will get a home recording set. So what are you waiting for? START WRITING!!! Here are the contest guidelines:
1) You must be 8-15 (please list your age). And no adult-kid collaborations (sorry, Mom and Dad).
2) Only one song per person please! Include your first name and last initial, hometown and phone number.
3) Let us know what music style you like (you know, so we don’t set a grunge song to an R&B tune).
4) Please keep a copy for yourself; we can’t return entries.
5) Lyrics must be in our hands by June 12. That gives you time… but time flies, so don’t put it off!
