Alan R. Carlson, 58, of St. Charles, died Monday at Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva. Mr. Carlson was a 1957 graduate of St. Charles High School. During his school years he enjoyed Scouting and became an Eagle Scout. He served in the Navy during the early 1960s and then continued his education at Aurora University, receiving his bachelor of science degree in industrial management. He continued his interest in scouting with his family later in life, along with his enjoyment of fishing, golf and bowling. Mr. Carlson was a member of the American Legion Post in Wasco. Before his retirement, he was district sales manager for Griffin Pipe Products. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte; three sons, Marc, Eric and Brett; a granddaughter; and a brother. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1145 N. 5th Ave., St. Charles.
