The Republican-controlled House called Thursday for public release of all documents related to President Clinton’s assertion of executive privilege in the Whitewater investigation. After a highly partisan debate, the non-binding resolution passed 259-157. Democrats countered that federal judges, not Congress, must decide whether to release the information because the issue is before the courts.
