A veteran prosecutor will become part of the team of attorneys in the coming trial of three white men accused of beating Lenard Clark, a 13-year-old African-American in the Armour Square neighborhood last year.
Ellen Mandeltort, who has been with the Cook County state’s attorney’s office for 13 years, will join Robert Berlin in prosecuting the defendants.
She replaces Adrienne Mebane, who is leaving the office, reportedly for a post with the Chicago Transit Authority.
