Frank W. Abel, 81, of Phoenix, formerly of Fox Lake, died Friday in Columbia Paradise Valley Hospital in Phoenix. He was a retired detective for the Chicago Police Department. He belonged to the Fraternal Order of Police and the American Legion. Survivors include a daughter, Elaine Nielson; a grandson; a granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Bede Catholic Church, 36455 Wilson Rd., Ingleside.
