Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
While riding the northbound CTA Red Line train recently, I witnessed a very disturbing event.
A young mother, carrying a child who looked to be between 1 and 2 years old, was talking to her friends, and nearly every word out of her mouth was an expletive. As a result, her child will probably develop a “potty mouth” before he is even potty trained.
People blame movies and television for expanding a child’s vocabulary in ways that are less than desirable, but they must also realize that many children are simply repeating what they have heard their parents saying. The next time you are about to spout forth obscenities, consider how you would feel if you heard your child saying the same things some day.
