Frank Sheils, 86, formerly of Chicago, a retired head clerk for the city’s Bureau of Engineering, died Wednesday in Indian River Memorial Hospital in Vero Beach, Fla. Mr. Sheils, a longtime resident of the Beverly-Morgan Park neighborhood, attended Barnard Elementary School and Morgan Park High School. During World War II, he worked in the electromotive division of General Motors Corp. He later worked for 30 years in the city’s Bureau of Engineering, retiring in 1974 as head clerk of the bureau. Survivors include his wife, Agnes; two daughters, Margaret Krzystofiak and Annette Bartl; four sons, John, Paul, Thomas and Joseph; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Brady-Gill-Heeney Funeral Home, 2929 W. 87th St., Evergreen Park. Mass will be said at noon Saturday in Christ the King Church, 9235 S. Hamilton Ave., Chicago.
