The Chicago firm of Holabird & Root, whose credits include Soldier Field and the Chicago Board of Trade, has been selected as the associate architect for the new McCormick-Tribune Campus Center at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Holabird & Root will assist Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, who in February was named the winner of an international design competition for the project. The campus center, due for completion in 2000, will house shops, a book store and other facilities for students and faculty. It is expected to cost about $25 million.
