This letter is regarding the question posed in Entertainment 101 in the Arts and Entertainment section (May 24). I would like to tell you that there IS a band that grants the audience’s request for Freebird. That band is Phish.
Back in 1993 they began performing an acappella version of Freebird as an encore. It is absolutely hilarious. They always include the entire instrumental part as all four members of the band provide different noises.
