Bernie Lincicome and Skip Myslenski’s coverage of the Indianapolis 500 (Tribune, May 28) was completely uninformed at best. I would be willing to bet neither could name 10 drivers who competed in the 1995 event (the last time CART raced there) without looking it up. I attended Indy this year and was treated to some of the best racing I’ve seen in years.

Maybe if uninformed writers would quit acting like CART’s PR department, the Indy Racing League would gain an equal footing. Until then, please report the race, not how bad it is that CART isn’t there. I didn’t miss them a bit.
