My hat is off to you for the well-done article on the leather community, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the International Mr. Leather contest (Tempo, May 22). It is through objective reporting such as this that new worlds are born, worlds where peace and tolerance are the rule of the day, rather than the usual dish of hatred and ignorance.
I was a contestant at this year’s IML contest (Mr. Pittsburgh). I found Chicago to be a wonderful city–a dream, actually. Whether you know it or not, you are a shining light to other less-enlightened places in our country. I will visit your city often and encourage my friends to do likewise.
