Gordon McCluskey, Romeoville’s interim village manager, has received a contract extension from the Village Board while the search for a permanent village manager continues.
The contract with McCluskey was extended Wednesday for an additional 599 hours.
McCluskey, who retired as village manager of Lockport, began a part-time contract with Romeoville this year to fill in while the late James Smithberg was hospitalized, and he continued in the office after Smithberg died.
In other business, the board postponed a vote on an amendment to the fire code to allow portable outdoor fireplaces.
