Caroline E. Rodger, 96, a former longtime resident of Villa Park and the wife of former Village President David Rodger, died Saturday in the Orland Park home of her daughter. Mrs. Rodger was born Feb. 2, 1902, in rural Iowa and moved to the Villa Park area in the early 1920s. She lived there for more than three decades, marrying David Rodger in 1944 and working as a physician’s secretary for most of that time. In 1957, the couple bought a partnership in a motel in Loveland, Col., and moved there.She had lived in Orland Park since 1975. “She was pretty much a home person,” daughter Barbara Donahue said. “A very happy, outgoing person.” Survivors also include two sons, Richard and James Rose; a daughter, Caroline Woll; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Boniface Episcopal Church, 16301 Oak Park Ave., Tinley Park.
