I am quite surprised by and disappointed in the media coverage, or lack thereof, for the recent dedication ceremony for a Chicago Police Memorial Monument.
The news media are very quick to report on allegations of improprieties of a vast minority of Chicago police officers, yet when these officers gather to remember those fellow men and women who have made the supreme sacrifice, nary a mention is made.
The Fraternal Order of Police and their members should be praised for the touching ceremony they provided and for never forgetting those who gave their lives protecting our city.
