Paul I. Hellman, 73, a longtime Mt. Prospect resident and a retired car salesman, died Friday at his home. Mr. Hellman, who was born and raised in Chicago, graduated from Roosevelt University with a psychology degree. He was an airline steward during World War II and earned a Bronze Star for his service. Mr. Hellman got into the car selling business through a brother-in-law, and later opened his own dealerships in Wisconsin and Oklahoma. He loved to travel and read. Survivors include his wife, Maureen; a son, Bradford; three daughters, Brooke Hoffman, Tiffany Bucolt and Meghan Petersen; two brothers, Milton and Bill; four sisters, Ethel Lurey, Shirley Seltzer, Dolly Amberg and Jane Felixson; and four grandchildren. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Grove Memorial Chapel, 195 N. Buffalo Grove Rd., Buffalo Grove.
