To me it seems like a great tragedy when a company like Motorola has to lay off 15,000 people due allegedly to the “backwardness” of its cellular technology.
I have been using a Motorola Cellular phone for several years now and find it an amazing piece of technology, one I have been able to use all over the United States and Hawaii.
Digital phones are said to be a better deal pricewise, but they are not capable of being used in many areas.
I just think the Motorola people have been remiss in not promoting the wonders (instead of the prices) of these miraculous devices. Even with some roaming charges, the cellular costs have not been as great as the monthly bill on a digital device. I wish Motorola well and hope that it profits by this sad experience.
