Carl G. Schaefer, 88, of Naperville died Monday in Tabor Hills Healthcare Facilities in Naperville. Born in Chicago, Mr. Schaefer began working for CNA Insurance in 1934 and retired as a branch manager in 1974. He was a member of the Naperville Heritage Society and participated in the building and reconstruction of Naper Settlement. He worked at several golf courses and was a driver for the city’s senior citizen center. Survivors include two sons, Dale and Carl; and four grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Bethany Lutheran Church, 1550 Modaff Rd., Naperville.
