Whatever Atlantis was lost beneath the sea, it probably bore little resemblance to the one that has risen at SeaWorld in Orlando.
Journey to Atlantis, which opened in April, is a combination roller coaster, water ride, special-effects extravaganza and comic-book mythological fantasy. The idea is that Atlantis, more than 10 stories high and covering an area of about six football fields, has emerged in a Greek harbor.
SeaWorld (7007 Sea Harbor Drive, Orlando; 800-327-2420) is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (until 9 or 10 p.m. on holidays and in summer). Daily admission (without tax) is $39.75; age 3 through 9, $32.
