Despite the negative reception he received from the city’s Plan Commission, Woodstock resident Alan Belcher plans to pursue building a 22-unit transitional living facility on Irving Avenue south of the Annstonian Apartments.
The commission has recommended turning down Belcher’s request for a special use for the 3.9-acre tract. His attorney, Steve Cuda, said Belcher plans to bring his request to the City Council.
Belcher is president of Transitional Living Services, a non-profit organization that provides temporary housing to families unable to afford permanent homes.
Cuda said he hoped Belcher’s project would go before the council later this month or in early July.
