Too much sun and a bad food day don’t have to be destructive, says Edita Kaye, author of “Fountain of Youth” (Warner Books, $22) and host of a PBS-TV series by the same name premiering Monday. But keep in mind these are not permanent remedies.
For sun exposure: If you forgot to use sunscreen on a sunny day, eat a carrot or two. They are nature’s own sunscreen and will diminish your potential for sun damage.
On high-fat foods: If you occasionally indulge in a burger and fries, also swallow an anti-oxidant such as 500 mg of vitamin C and 400 IU of vitamin E. They may keep that fat from sticking to arteries.
