Edward R. Pack, 78, a Marine veteran who was stationed in the Pacific during World War II, died Friday in his Clarendon Hills home. A Chicago native, Mr. Pack attended Tilden High School and enlisted in the Marines in 1942, serving until 1946. A 45-year resident of Clarendon Hills, he worked as a machinist for 41 years for Western Electric and was an avid golfer, bowler and dancer throughout his life, said his wife, Alice. Mr. Pack also was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Moose Lodge No. 265 in Cicero and the Indian Boundary YMCA in Downers Grove for many years, his wife said. Mr. Pack is also survived by a son, Wayne, and two granddaughters. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday in Toon Funeral Home, 109 N. Cass Ave., Westmont. Mass will be said begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 64 Norfolk Ave., Clarendon Hills.
