Jennifer Love Hewitt, co-stars in the new teen party flick “Can’t Hardly Wait” (PG-131, recently said of the movie: “This isn’t just a movie about teenagers with nothing on their minds but drinking, sex and drum. It has some good role models.”
Well, let’s see. . .
There’s Preston (Ethan Embry), who’s on his way to Dartmouth (good school), and he spends the whole graduation-night party looking all lovey-dovey at Amanda (Hewitt). If you’re kind of a drippy guy who thinks it’s a cosmic sign when a girl eats your favorite flavor of Pop-Tart, he can be your role model.
As for Amanda, the former prom and homecoming queen, she’s pretty-and pretty dull.
Then there’s the Harvard-bound kid, William (Charlie Korsmo), who discovers beer and becomes a boozing wild man. File him in the bad category.
Kenny (Seth Green) is a white dude who acts like a hip-hopper, and all he wants to do is score with the honeys. You don’t want to be like him; you don’t want to be around him.
Our favorite character is Denise (Lauren Ambrose), a smart redhead you’d actually want to hang around with. But someone must have tapped her with the stupid stick, because she ends up getting it on with Kenny-and we’re talking shout much more than a peck onthe cheek, Yuck and boo!
Well, at least no one does drugs.
