The Wilmette Fire Department said Friday a man electrocuted Thursday night was killed while trimming a large tree on his property with a homemade trimmer.
ZoneWay Lin, 47, of the 800 block of Lavergne Avenue was killed instantly at about 6:45 p.m. Thursday when the tree trimmer he was using in his back yard made contact with overhead power lines, said Deputy Fire Chief James Dominik.
“It’s the time of year when people really need to be concerned about electrical wires.” Dominik said.
