Britain’s Press Complaints Commission reminded the media Friday not to intrude into Prince William’s privacy after resolving the teenager’s first complaint against the press.
The subject of William’s wrath was an article in last week’s Mail on Sunday to celebrate this Sunday’s 16th birthday of the first-born son of Prince Charles.
The coverage was “grossly intrusive and inaccurate,” Buckingham Palace charged.
The commission, an industry regulatory body, said Friday that William’s complaint had been amicably resolved.
The article in that prompted the complaint purported to know everything from William’s inner-most thoughts to his bedroom decor.
Royal spokeswoman Sandy Henney said the palace especially objected to the newspaper’s assertion that William would evaluate young women and then tell his private secretary to invite some to tea.
Henney said that wasn’t true.
