A.B. Huttig, 95, of Homewood, former vice president and treasurer of the Illinois Central Railroad, died Thursday in the Washington and Jane Smith Home in Chicago. Mr. Huttig first worked as a clerk at the railroad’s New York financial office in 1918. He moved to Chicago in 1928 as the stock transfer clerk and retired in 1969 as treasurer of the railroad and its parent company, Illinois Central Industries. His hobbies included gardening and woodworking. Survivors include a daughter, Grace Roberts; a son, Raymond; two grandsons; and a great-grandson. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Tews Funeral Home, 18230 S. Dixie Highway, Homewood. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
