Indonesia and the International Monetary Fund have signed a new accord to resume a $43 billion economic bailout program, the government announced Thursday..

It is the fourth pact to be struck with the IMF since last year. Dow Jones Newswires reported the government and the Washington-based lending agency revised the national budget after weeks of talks on the paralyzed economy.

The deal will allow the IMF to begin disbursing loans again. The new budget is loaded with subsidies to ease the burden on millions of poor people in a nation shaken by deadly riots over price increases.

The IMF loans had been suspended in May because of political turmoil.
