In this day and age when a helping hand is not always readily extended, it was refreshing to find a professional who heeded the credo “We serve and protect.” Officer Wayne Schnell, star No. 6059 of the 1st District, was that person.
He went beyond the call of duty and brought my husband, who is a senior citizen and is ill, home. It would have been easy for him to tell me and come and get him, but he empathized and cared enough to get him home safely.
I’m deeply grateful to him, and I think that others should be informed of this exemplary behavior of Officer Wayne Schnell.
