According to Steve Chapman, people criticize the Chinese government not because it behaves like a ruthless aggressor but because it behaves “like a normal power” (Op-Ed, June 21). Besides mistreating the people of China, the Chinese government has invaded the culturally distinct and historically independent country of Tibet–killing, torturing and raping its people, destroying monasteries, suppressing religion. If that isn’t ruthless aggression, what is?
