Dr. Robert J. DeWolf, 84, of Arlington Heights, a retired dentist, died Saturday in Church Creek Health Care Center, Arlington Heights. Dr. DeWolf, who was born in Woodstock and formerly lived in Wilmette, earned his degree from Loyola University Chicago Dental School in the 1930s. He served as a Navy dentist at the rank of lieutenant in the Pacific Theater during World War II and retired from the U.S Naval Reserve as a captain in 1970. He retired from his dental practice in Evanston after suffering a stroke in 1982. “He was a very loving, caring, giving person,” said his daughter Cherris Grady. Other survivors include his wife, Isabel; two sons, Dr. William and Craig; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd., Mt. Prospect. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
