Thomas G. Gerst, 57, died Friday in his Lisle home. Born in Buffalo, Mr. Gerst was vice president for finance and grants with the National Opinion Research Center in Chicago. He graduated from the University of Buffalo with a bachelor’s degree in business and a master’s degree in finance. He was a eucharistic minister and a school board member at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Lisle and was president of the Lisle baseball league. Mr. Gerst was an avid golfer, a member of the National Ski Patrol and a member of the Naperville Country Club. Survivors include his wife, Roberta A.; a daughter, Barbara Thomas; a son, Thomas D.; and two brothers, Robert and William. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, followed by a mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Kingston and Front Streets, Lisle.
