As Romeoville grows, village officials might want to consider adding to the mix of economic incentives for development, Village Atty. Ray Meader told the Village Board.
“The retail (development) is coming now, and we’re telling them to put in the roads and sewers,” he said.
One incentive that might help the village and the developers is a sales-tax rebate incentive program, officials said.
To qualify, officials said, a project would have to provide jobs and benefit area-wide development, strengthening the town’s commercial center and increasing the tax base.
