Devon M. Cotie, 19, of West Chicago, a biology student at Parkland Community College in Champaign and a 1996 graduate of Elgin High School, died Thursday in a truck accident in Vermilion County, Ill. Mr. Cotie worked for Bash Pepper Roofing in Champaign during the summer and was a member of the National Guard unit in Elgin for the past two years. As a high school senior, he was captain of the wrestling team. He is survived by his parents, Gary and Jane; his grandparents, Russell and Helen Cotie and Ruby Simmons; and a brother, Brandon. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday in Norris-Walen Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St., West Chicago. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
