McHenry County Finance Manager Richard Roleck said Wednesday that he will sign the contract the County Board approved for him last week, making him the first administrator in county government to have a contract.

Roleck said he had been considering another job offer that would have paid him less than the $66,000 the County Board will pay, but which would have required him to work fewer hours.

Since becoming finance manager last spring, Roleck has been working seven-day weeks to prepare records for an independent audit of the county’s finances, as well as to deal with several pressing budget issues.

The contract expires Nov. 30, 2000, to coincide with the end of the county’s budget year.

Roleck stepped into the position after Kathleen Reinertsen resigned in April.
