Frederick Charles Came, 54, owner of Golden Walnut Specialty Foods, died in his home Saturday of cancer. Mr. Came’s company was best known for its “Golden Walnut Cookies,” which were shaped like walnuts. His family-run company also specialized in cakes and candies and distributed nuts. Before buying the company, Mr. Came was vice president of sales and marketing for Leaf Inc., a candy manufacturer. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; a daughter, Rebecca; a son, Preston; his mother, Hazel; and a brother, Harry. Services were held Wednesday in Gurnee.
