Lisle village trustees have authorized a public hearing on the proposed Meijer’s superstore scheduled for Thursday night at Lisle Junior High School, and they have authorized hearings to consider a tax increment financing proposal for the store planned for Maple Avenue and Benedictine Parkway.

The meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday will be in the junior high school, to accommodate an anticipated large crowd of residents. Many people living near the site of the proposed supermarket and general merchandise store have indicated opposition to the project because of the increased traffic and congestion it might bring to their neighborhood.

Regarding the proposed TIF district, a meeting of a joint review board is set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, and a public hearing before the Village Board is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Aug. 24.
