John A. Perry, 67, a longtime resident of Hoffman Estates, was a retired U.S. government veterans-benefits counselor with 24 years of service. Mr. Perry, a native of Chicago, died Sunday in Columbia Hoffman Estates Medical Center. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; a son, Richard; two daughters, Patricia Machamer and Sandy Ridle; and two grandchildren. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday in Ahlgrim and Sons Funeral Home, 330 W. Golf Rd., Schaumburg.
