Sara Lee to sell textile plant: Sara Lee Corp., Chicago-based consumer packaged products company with interests in a broad range of food and clothing, said it will sell its Gaffney, S.C., textile production plan to National Textiles LLC, producing an expected $35 million in cash flow benefits. Sara Lee said the sale is part of its plan to raise $3 billion in cash over three years by selling operating assets and cutting costs. Sara Lee plans to use the proceeds to repurchase at least $3 billion of common shares. Through June 30, Sara Lee repurchased 27.2 million shares for $1.5 billion.
