Good consumer information was provided by Eric Zorn (Metro, June 30) in reporting that opinions about the hormone rBGH, which is given to cows to increase their milk production, range from it being carcinogenic to harmless.
Zorn also reported that dairy products not produced from cows so treated now can be labeled as such.
More research should be conducted on the hormone, and dairies and stores should inform their customers by labeling products appropriately.
