Gregory Michael Delowery Sr., 56, of Palatine, a captain for Delta Air Lines, died Wednesday in Munich, Germany, where he was on a layover. He was a Delta pilot for 30 years, and most recently flew Boeing 767s to and from Europe. He received a bachelor’s degree in economics from St. Joseph’s College in Philadelphia, where he participated in the Air Force ROTC program. He served as a pilot in the Air Force for five years and rose to the rank of captain. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Judy; two daughters, Kelly Ann Bireley and Heather; and a son, Gregory Jr. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2515 W. Palatine Rd., Inverness, where mass will be said at 11 a.m.
