Francis Bernhard Libbe, 72, of Flossmoor, a trial attorney of 36 years with a colorful sense of humor, died Sunday. “He made life fun,” said his son Francis G. Libbe. “Even in difficult times, he made people laugh with the timing of Jackie Mason.” Mr. Libbe graduated from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 1950. He worked for financial services and insurance companies before beginning his law career as a trial attorney and partner with the Chicago law firm of Kirkland & Ellis. Mr. Libbe also enjoyed music and would often write song parodies and sing them at church fundraisers. “He was very good with words, and he had a good sense of humor, and it just all came together,” his son said. Other survivors include his wife, Dolores; three other sons, James, Robert and John; three daughters, Catherine, Susan and Margaret; and seven grandchildren. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church, 1131 Douglas Ave., Flossmoor.
