William R. Hester, 63, of Lombard, died Monday in his home. A Chicago native, Mr. Hester was a cook. He is survived by a son, Patrick; three brothers, Francis, James and Thomas; and a sister, Barbara McSherry. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Thursday in Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 S. York Rd., Elmhurst. Services will follow at 10:45 a.m. in the funeral home, and mass will be said at 11:30 a.m. in St. Pius X Catholic Church, 601 S. Westmore St., Lombard.
