Alice E. Rolfs, 100, of Arlington Heights died Monday in Northwest Community Healthcare in Arlington Heights. Born in Chicago, Mrs. Rolfs owned and operated Elmer’s White Rock grocery in Norridge with her husband, Elmer, for 30 years. She was a former resident of Norridge and Chicago. In 1965, Mrs. Rolfs retired to Sarasota, Fla. She moved to Arlington Heights in 1969 after the death of her husband. “She had a wonderful personality,” recalled one of her daughters, Barbara Epifano. “She enjoyed life and her family, and she had a great sense of humor.” Other survivors include three more daughters, Carol Price, June Wilczewski and Joan Ausland; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights.
