Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

When Madison Square Garden Network Wednesday welcomed Marv Albert back as the radio voice of the Knicks, it wasn’t doing anything new. It’s a kind of entertainment world relay. I believe Albert took the baton from Hugh Grant. . . . Broadcasting should be a little slower with those second chances. Albert doesn’t pretend to be a journalist, but he does need a little credibility to do his job as play-by-play man, and he has almost none. Broadcasters on his level are also celebrities who carry a bigger burden not to be slimeballs off the air. Putting Albert back on the show with the usual fanfare is, like it or not, an endorsement of him as a person.
