Howard A. Jack, 77, of Wheeling, a salesman and customer service representative for ERA Tool and Manufacturing Co. in Des Plaines for 45 years, died Wednesday in his home. He served with the Army during World War II and received a Bronze Star. “He was known by family and friends as someone who loved and took great joy out of life and passed that on to everyone,” said his daughter Eileen Drake. Other survivors include his wife, Mary Patricia; a son, Howard A. Jr.; two other daughters, Marilee Richards and Linda; a sister, Mella Goble; and four grandchildren. A mass will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Alphonsus Ligouri Catholic Church, 411 N. Wheeling Rd., Prospect Heights.
