Birthplace: Chicago.

Occupation: Actor.

Current home: Los Angeles.

Marital status: Single.

Car: A black 1993 Toyota.

Working on: “The Practice” on ABC-TV, and I’m in the film version of “The Mod Squad” with Claire Danes.

The last good movie I saw: “Bulworth” was adequate to good.

I stay home to watch: Football and basketball; “Homicide”; our show; “NYPD Blue”; I’m starting to figure out what “Ally McBeal” is all about; “Frasier”; and “Spin City.”

The book I’ve been reading: “Hide and Seek” by James Patterson.

Magazines I read: I’ll look at Entertainment Weekly and Sports Illustrated.

Favorite pigout food: Meat. Some steak and potatoes and biscuits and gravy and my mom’s caramel cake.

Prized possession: I was given a black leather bag as a gift and I carry all my stuff in it.

Personal heroes: My father. He was a bus driver during the day and he worked at the racetrack at night. My first basketball coach was the fairest coach I’ve ever been involved with. His motto was “PHD: pride, hustle, discipline.” And then there was Sister Thomas, a black nun who taught me in grammar school. She was the first black nun I ever saw. She was diligent. I didn’t like it then, but I appreciate it now.

People always think I’m: In Japan they thought I was Mike Tyson.

If I could do it over: I would have spent more time with my mom and dad and

listened to them better.

I’d give anything to meet: Colin Powell.

People who knew me in high school thought I was: A jock.

My most irrational act: I tried to stop a robbery.

If I weren’t an actor, I’d be: A professional football player.

Most humbling experience: Dealing with a relationship that ended.

The three words that best describe me: Competitive, honorable and aggressive.
