Mallorie A. Coklan, 43, of Schaumburg, formerly of Chicago, died Saturday in Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village after a long battle with breast cancer. Born in Chicago, Mrs. Coklan graduated from Schurz High School in Chicago and attended Harper College in Palatine. She had worked as a medical administrative assistant at several offices in the northwest suburbs. A resident of Schaumburg for 14 years, Mrs. Coklan was an avid bird-watcher and camper. “She loved nature,” said her husband, Ron Coklan. “She was a caring person.” Other survivors include a son, Nick; a daughter, Jill; her parents, Arleane and Wendell Barnhart; a brother, Brian Barnhart; and a sister, Donna Chottanapund. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 330 W. Golf Rd., Schaumburg. Prayers will be said at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. A mass will follow at 10 a.m. in the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit, 1451 W. Bode Rd., Schaumburg.
