Robert F. Ancha, who had recently returned from traveling to Ghana, wrote (Voice, July 21) that we should not complain about our electric service. Apparently electricity is shut off for 12 hours at a time daily in Ghana. He is missing the point. Commonwealth Edison is a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week service here. We pay premium rates (which go up in the summer) and expect premium service.
ComEd seems to be surprised every summer when it gets hot. Well here’s forewarning: Summer of 1999 will be here next year and guess what, ComEd, it will be hot.
