Bulk up the population? What planet is Charles Krauthammer talking about (“Anti-immigrant demagogues destroying future of American,” Commentary, July 20)? Has he never driven on any city expressway, tried to use a forest preserve on the weekend, applied for a job and found dozens of qualified applicants vying for the same position, observed one cornfield after another sprouting tract housing or seen reports of water usage cutbacks for various communities?
Perhaps population stress will interrupt normal reproduction rates and create Mr. Krauthammer’s projected world, where life might prove less stressful than the urban anthill I now occupy.
