Good grief! Is there no better example of the decline of Western civilization than the trend to outfit cement lawn geese in elaborate, handmade costumes (“Stylish lawn geese get down big time,” Metro, July 26)? Just imagine the results if the people mentioned in and photographed with the story devoted as much time, effort and money to something truly worthwhile–such as clothing real people instead of fake animals.
It’s sad enough to live such a life of quiet desperation–but quite another to announce it to the world on your front lawn.
