James E. Stansfield Jr., 42, of Bartlett, formerly of Cleveland, died Saturday in Sherman Hospital in Elgin. An insurance agent, Mr. Stansfield was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church choir, past president of the St. Joseph School Booster Club, basketball coach at St. Joseph School for two years and an umpire for the Blue Little League in Bartlett for seven years. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen; two sons, James and Robert; a daughter, Bethanne; four brothers, Patrick, Joseph, Michael and John; and a sister, Ann Gornick. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Wait-Ross-Allanson Funeral Chapel, 51 Center St., Elgin. Prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the chapel, followed by a mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 272 Division St., Elgin.
